Installing and Activating BeamReader

BeamReader^TM, SLG mobile, Inc.’s native PDF reader for BlackBerry, can be downloaded via the Notify BlackBerry Installer.

 

Device Requirements for BeamReader

•      A BlackBerry device registered against the NotifyLink server

•      BlackBerry OS v4.5 – 6.0

•      NotifyLink for BlackBerry v4.6.6 or greater

•      NotifyLink Enterprise Server v4.6.2 or greater

•      A purchased license* for BeamReader

* In order to activate BeamReader software downloaded via the Notify BlackBerry Installer, the license for the product must be purchased through Notify Technology Corporation.  The software can, however, be run as a trial until the purchase.  BeamReader software may also be purchased via the SLG Mobile. Inc. website.

 

Obtaining Your BeamReader Software Through Notify Technology

1.  Consult your administrator to verify that BeamReader licensed seats have been purchased for your system.

2.  Download the BeamReader software via the Notify BlackBerry Installer on your device.

Select the Notify BlackBerry Installer icon from your BlackBerry Home page.   Check the BeamReader option and click Continue or select Perform Updates from the menu to begin downloading.

3.  If your device is registered against the NotifyLink server, coordinate with your administrator to have your BeamReader seat registered.

4.  Verify that your Notification Format Rules are configured to allow PDF attachments to be sent to your device in their Original/Native format.  From the NotifyLink Client Web select General > Format, then select Original/Native for PDF Attachments.

5.  Your BeamReader license will activate during the next connection between your device and the server.
