Wireless Device Space Requirements:
You need 1.2MB of free space available on your device to install the NotifyLink application.
You need 2MB of free space available if you are installing BeamReader along with NotifyLink.
Additional space is needed to store the notifications that you receive and messages that you send.
Wireless Device Operating System Requirements:
BlackBerryฎ OS versions 4.2.1* 7.0
+
Bundle 695 (v6.0.0.246, Platform 6.4.0.105) for AT&T
Torch
+ v6.0.0.407
for Sprint Style (9670)
*Note: NotifyLink for BlackBerry version 4.7.x will be the last to support BlackBerry OS versions less than 4.5.
BlackBerry OS versions 4.2.1 7.0 are supported, however, email attachment support is based on the BlackBerry OS version as listed below. The best practice is to upgrade the operating system software to the latest supported version available for the device/carrier you are using. Check carrier/device links for updates to the BlackBerry software.
4.5 7.0 Attachments can be downloaded and saved to the file system or SD Card. Any attachment type can be opened and viewed directly from NotifyLink, provided there is an application installed which supports the file type. OS version 7.0 or higher comes with applications that also allow attachment editing for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
4.3 through versions less than 4.5 Attachments can be downloaded and saved to the file system or SD Card. Certain attachment types (mainly media types) can be opened and viewed directly from NotifyLink.
4.2.1 through versions less than 4.3 Attachments can be downloaded and saved to the file system or SD Card, but cannot be opened directly from NotifyLink.
Hint: Any time you update device operating system software, you should also make sure you have installed the latest updates to the NotifyLink software, since the OS update may unlock NotifyLink functionality that is compatible with newer OS versions. Use the Notify BlackBerry Installer to check for updates. When you open it, a check initiates. The Installer will then check mark the applications that have updates available. Choose "Continue" to install them. For information on upgrading your BlackBerry OS, see Knowledge base article.

Check the OS version on which your device is operating |
Go to Settings > Options > About. The device model and device software version will be displayed at the top of the screen. |
|

Go to Settings > Options > Status. File Free displays the amount of memory available on the device. |
|
Check whether your device has been provisioned for data connection |
Test #1: If you can connect to the internet from the browser, chances are you are data provisioned. Test #2: Check whether your device supports
BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). |
|
Check whether your device is WiFi equipped |
If your device is equipped with network connection alternatives (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.) you may see an option called Connection Manager on the devices main screen. Open the Connection Manager and check for WiFi related menu items. Some devices may only have an option to Turn Wireless On/Off. This indicates that the device operates with a mobile connection only and does not offer connection alternatives. |
