Profiles

NotifyLink provides an option through the BlackBerry Profiles application that allows you to set an alert behavior for incoming NotifyLink notifications for email, meeting invitations, and PIM (calendar, contacts, tasks, and memos) items.  See also Notification Settings.

In addition to the alerts that correspond to the NotifyLink Notification Settings, you can also set alert behaviors for the following occurrences:

      Notify - Error Messages

      Notify - Level 1 (high priority) Messages

      Notify - Low Memory

      Notify - Unsent Messages

Hint:  BlackBerry Profiles enable you to define a set of alerts for a variety of situations. The Normal profile will be the one you use in most circumstances.  You can also set Loud, Quiet, Vibrate, or Phone Only profiles that you can then switch to as the circumstance dictates.  For example, you might want to switch to your Quiet or Vibrate profile when in a meeting or to your Loud profile when you are in a noisy location.

 

1.  Select Profiles icon  from the Home screen.  Note which profile is labeled “(Active).”

2.  Scroll to and select Advanced. The active profile will be highlighted on the Profiles menu.  Select it.

3.  From the list, select the item type for which you are setting notification behavior: Notify - <item name>

4.  Set the Out of Holster/In Holster, Ring Tone, Volume, etc. for each Notify alert you are using.

Hint:  By default, Volume is set to “Mute” and Out of/In Holster are set to “None,” which results in inaudible alerts.  You must change these defaults in order for the alerts to work.

5.  Select Save from the menu.

6.  Repeat this process for any other profiles you use.
