Editing Word and Excel Attachments
If you intend to edit Word or Excel files, they must be opened with a registered copy of eWord or eCell or a purchased copy of Documents To Go Premium Edition.
Display the attachment list screen again, select the downloaded attachment. From the popup menu, select the application with which to open and edit the attachment. The menu only displays applications that support the type of attachment selected.
Saving an Attachment File to the Device
1. Select the attachment from the attachment list and select Save As from the menu.
2. Choose where to save the attachment. Select:
|
|
• eFile - to save to the eFile file system (eFile will only allow viewing/editing for .doc or .xls files) • Device - to save to the native device file system or SD Card Note: If saving to the native device file system, select Device, then choose the file path /store/home/user/.
|
When the save is complete a dialog displays showing the location of the file. The downloaded attachment data moves to the file system storage location.
CAUTION: Do NOT save attachments to the /Local/NotifyLink directory in the eFile file system. It is a temporary directory for the NotifyLink application and is used when viewing attachments that have not been saved to the eFile application. The NotifyLink application periodically deletes any file in this directory that begins with the ‘~’ character.
