Using Remote Lookup

 

If there are public address books on the server and the server is set up correctly, Remote Lookup will allow you to search through the public address book and add contacts from it to the device contact list.

 

Search the Remote Address Books

1.  From the Contacts menu, choose Remote Lookup.

2.  Type the First Name and/or the Last Name of the contact for which you are searching.  You can use a partial string of characters in either search field.

3.  From the Remote Lookup menu, choose Search to find contacts that meet the search criteria.

Hint:  You can also choose the View Results option from the Remote Lookup menu to display saved results from the most recently completed search.

 

The Search Results

•      Add a name to your contacts from the search results: Highlight a name and select Save from the menu.  Select Save All to save all the results.

•      View the details of a name on the search results list: Highlight a name and press Enter or select View Contact from the menu.

Search Results Menu	Description
View Contact	Displays all the contact information for the selected item in the list.
More Results	Requests and displays the next 20 results.  Appears when more than 20 results are returned from the server.
Lastname, Firstname or Firstname, Lastname	Changes the format of how results are displayed.
Erase Results	Clears the list of results from the device.
