Viewing Attachments

There are several ways to view attachments.  Viewing an attachment can be done from:

      NotifyLink when accessing Email

      eOffice (the application manager) found on the device’s main menu

      eFile (the file manager) found on the device’s main menu

This section documents viewing attachments from NotifyLink and eOffice.

 

There are a variety of attachment viewing applications available, each supporting a different file type.  There are also editing applications for Microsoft Word and Excel files (eWord and eCell) which require a purchased license for full functionality.  If a licensed is not purchased, however, the editing applications can still be used to view attachments.  The editing functions, however, are disabled until the product is registered.

Viewing Attachments From NotifyLink

You can open a message listed in your Inbox and view its attachment using attachment viewers such as Excel Viewer and Word Viewer or editors such as, eCell and eWord.

1.  Open the Email containing your attachment. 

2.  From the drop down menu select Download Attachments.  The attachment list screen displays the attachments sent with the message. 

3.  Open the menu on the attachment list screen.  You will see options to Open with… applications appropriate for the attachment file type.

Note: The Retrieve option appears if the attachment has not yet been downloaded.

4.  If the attachment has not been previously downloaded, you must Retrieve it.  If you are viewing an attachment that has already been downloaded, choose one of the Open with… applications.

TIP:  A registration prompt will always appear if you are viewing attachments with an unregistered editing application such as, eWord or eCell.  You will have to Cancel the prompt each time.  The application menus will also display editing options that are disabled because the application is not licensed and registered.

Viewing attachments with a Viewer application, however, will not prompt for registration and will display only viewing options in the application’s menu.

 

Viewing Attachments From eOffice

eOffice is an application manager. It contains quick-launch icons for DynoPlex applications and shows recently opened/saved files.

Attachments must be saved to the device before they can be viewed from editing applications, (eCell and eWord), accessed through eOffice.  See To Download, Open, or Save an Attachment.

If you are viewing attachments with unregistered editing applications, you will be prompted to register the applications each time you enter eOffice or select eCell or eWord from the eOffice launch pad.  You will have to Cancel the prompt each time.  The registration prompts look like this:

 

1.  From the device’s main menu, select the eOffice icon. 

2.  You can view a saved attachment using one of two methods:

      The eOffice launch pad may display a shortcut to a recently opened/saved file.  Simply select the file’s shortcut to view the attachment.

      Open eCell or eWord and from the menu, select File > Open.  Choose a file from the attachments stored in the local folders and select Open.
