Message List: Menu Options and Keyboard Shortcuts

To access a list of menu options for the message list, click the device menu button. 

      *  An asterisk indicates that the option is only available when there is at least one message in the Inbox.

Menu Option

Description

Shortcuts

View*

Displays the selected message.

Enter

Mark Read*

Marks the highlighted message(s) as read.  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.

R or r

Mark Unread*

Marks the highlighted message(s) as unread.  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.

U or u

Mark Prior Read*

Displayed when a date header is selected.  This marks all messages prior to the selected date as read.  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.

 

Mark Prior Unread*

Displayed when a date header is selected.  This marks all messages prior to the selected date as unread.  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.

 

Delete*

Deletes highlighted message(s).  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.

Delete or Backspace

Delete All*

Deletes all messages in the folder.  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.  Confirm the delete by typing, notifysync.   Note: This may take a while if you have a large quantity of messages.

 

Delete Prior*

Displayed when a date header is selected.  This deletes all messages below the date header.  Changes are synchronized to the server mail account.  Confirm the delete by typing, notifysync.   Note: This may take a while if you have a large quantity of messages.

 

Move To Folder*

Moves the highlighted message(s) to a different folder.

V or v

Sync

Tells the device to check for new messages now (on-demand synchronization).  Note: To prevent the interruption of direct push connections, this option is not available when the device is in Direct Push.

 

View Folder

Displays the email folder list and allows you to open another folder.  To switch folders, select a folder from the list and hit Enter.

F or f

Previous Folder

Moves to the previous folder in the folder list, without having to view the list.

I or i

Next Folder

Moves to the next folder in the folder list, without having to view the list.

O or o

Search

Allows you to search for messages based on the search criteria you enter.  Search criteria text you enter is case sensitive.

 

Compose

Displays the Compose Message screen.

C or c

Sort Messages

Allows you to sort the message list in ascending or descending order by Date, Sender, or Subject.

 

Enable/Disable Multi-Select

Enable this option to allow selection of multiple messages in the message list for the purpose of moving, deleting, or marking as read/unread a group of messages.

 

Preferences

Allows you to change your device preferences.

P or p

Register

Register a new NotifySync account.  Only appears prior to registering your device.

 

Company Directory

Allows you to perform a query on the server’s company directory and select recipients to insert into address fields when composing email.

 

About

Shows version and copyright information.

 

Close

Exits NotifySync.

Resend

Resends the message.  Available only when viewing the Sent Items folder.

N or n

Empty Trash

Permanently deletes all the messages in the device’s Trash folder.  Confirm the delete by typing, notifysync.  Available only when viewing the Deleted Items folder.

E or e

Location

Displays the current and original folder locations of the message.  Available only when viewing the Deleted Items folder.

 

Hint:  On devices where multiple characters share the same key, press the Alt key to use the second letter as a hotkey.  Example:  To use ‘B’ for moving to the bottom, you would press Alt+B.
