Account Settings

Account Settings allow you to view information about the NotifyLink account set up for you on the server.  Most of the information can only be viewed and cannot be edited from the device.  Account information is synchronized to the device during the registration process.

Account Settings does provide several menu options that give you the ability to:

Synchronize account information that has been changed on the server to the device.

Delete the account from the device.  This might be used if the device was being prepared for redistribution.

1.  Select the NotifyLink icon from the Home screen.

2.  Select Preferences from the Options drop-down menu or the Preferences button.

3.  Select Account from the Server options.

4.  View the Account settings.  Only Server Address and the SSL status can be edited:

Account Settings

Client Device Key

This is a system assigned identifier that changes only when the account is deleted and reregistered.

Email Address

This is the address for the account to which the device is registered.

PIN

The device identification number, often the phone number.

Server Address

The external IP address of your NotifyLink web server.  It should not be altered unless your NotifyLink administration specifically instructs you to do so.

Use SSL

Check the box to enable SSL, an encryption protocol that secures data-in-motion as it transmits over the Internet. (Check with your administrator before enabling.  Server must be equipped with SSL certification.)  See also SSL Support.

5.  Select Save to save the changes.

Refresh Account Info

Use this to retrieve the latest account registration information from the registration server.

Send Device Parameters

Device statistics, such as Email and PIM poll cycle data and device hardware and software information, are automatically sent to the server every 24 hours.  This option allows you to send an update with the next synchronization session.

Remove Account

Use to delete the account from the device.  This might be used if the device is being prepared for redistribution to another user.
