Attaching a File

There are several ways to attach files to messages on a device.

•      From the Compose screen, select a file to attach from a file list.

•      From the Compose screen, access another application and select one of its files to attach.

•      Open a file in another application and send it to NotifyLink where a new message is automatically created with the file attached to it.

Attaching From the Compose Message Screen

Files selected from the Handheld memory will be attached in their native Palm .pdb or .prc format.  Files selected from a memory card will be attached in their current format with their current name and extension.

1.  Tap the title bar on the Compose Message screen (or press the menu key on the keypad).  From the drop-down Options menu, select Attachments.

You can also select the attachment button option.

2.  The Select Files screen displays a list of the available files on the Handheld.  You can also choose to look at the files on a memory card if one is being used.

3.  Checkmark the files you wish to add and use the “Add” button to attach them to the message.  The Attached Files screen will display the file you have chosen.

From the Attached Files screen use the “Add Files” button to attach another file or the “Remove” button to remove an attachment from the message.

4.  Select Done to return to the Compose screen.

Get a File From Another Application

From the Select Files screen you can also use the “Get” button to select a file from another application.  Only applications that support this will appear in the list.

1.  From the Compose screen, select the attachment button.

2.  Select “Get” from the Select Files screen.

3.  Select an application to open.

4.  Choose a file from the application’s file list and attach it to the message.

5.  Select Done from the Attached Files.

Send an Attachment From Another Application

From any application that supports this, you can open a file and send it to NotifyLink where a new message is automatically created with the file attached to it.  For example, from Quickword you could open a file and send it to NotifyLink.

Once you have selected NotifyLink and “OK,” the file is transferred to NotifyLink and the Compose Message screen creates a new message with the file attached to it.  Fill in the rest of the email.  You can see that the attachment was added by selecting the attachment icon.
