Welcome to the NotifyLink family!
Device Requirements
• Your mobile phone service provider must support data transmission. Please refer to your device User Guide or contact your mobile phone service provider for help in configuring this service.
• If you plan to use Direct Push synchronization, your mobile phone service provider must support TCP network provisioning.
• As a user of NotifyLink, you are part of a NotifyLink system so your device must first be set up with an account on a On-Demand or On-Premise version of NotifyLink Enterprise Server. Verify this with your IT Administrator.
• Check the device operating system versions supported by NotifyLink.
Memory Requirements
• 1.8 MB of free space is required to install the NotifyLink application on BlackBerry devices.
• Additional memory is needed to download and store email, calendar events, contacts, and tasks.
• Memory requirements for older versions of the NotifyLink device application:
o Palm OS – 1.2 MB
o Symbian S60 3 – 1 MB
o Windows Mobile – 4 MB This includes space required for .net cf 2.0 and SQL Mobile
Please Note: These older version of the NotifyLink device application are only supported with NotifyLink Enterprise Server (NLES), version 4.7.x. They will not function with NLES v4.8.x or greater. Symbian S60 3 and Windows Mobile users should migrate to the NotifyLink ActiveSync Solution.
Do’s and Don’ts
DO…fully charge your battery before you begin.
DO…a full backup of the device.
DO…make sure you are in a serviceable mobile phone area.
DO…make sure if you are registering a device that previously interfaced with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) that it is returned to a default (or blank) BES IT policy before you register with NotifyLink. See Knowledge base article for details.
DO…feel free to use synchronization software to download the NotifyLink application onto your device, BUT…
DON’T use other synchronization software to synchronize your email and PIM (calendar events, contacts, and tasks) once NotifyLink has been installed. NotifyLink will handle all email and PIM synchronization.
