From the Contacts screen you may create or edit a contact entry and view existing entries. Access your contacts list by selecting the Address Book (Contacts) from the device’s Home screen.
NOTE: All PIM functions (Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks) use the Symbian user interface, but process the data through the NotifyLink application.
Contact synchronization settings will determine whether or not entries are sent to your Mail Server. See PIM Settings for more information.
Choosing Address
Books
NotifyLink can synchronize contacts from multiple
address books on the Mail/PIM Server into different groups on the device.
It also gives you the ability to choose which address books will be
synchronized. Perhaps you want your business contact list, but not your
personal contact list synchronized to your device.
Some Mail/PIM servers use contact categories in place of Address Books In those instances a contact category on the server is mapped to the device contact group.
From the NotifyLink Client Web you can set synchronization preferences for address books. See the Enterprise Server Client Web Guide for more information on Choosing Address Books.
NOTE: The Choose Address Books feature is NOT available if you are synchronizing with a FirstClass, Google, MDaemon, Meeting Maker, Mirapoint, Oracle, or Sun Java Enterprise System server.
Change the
Contact List View
You can view the contact list sorted either by
First Name or Last Name. Select Options >
Settings from the contact screen to change the sorting order and name
display format.
You can also view contacts by group. Once in the contact list, scroll right to the Group tab. Highlight and select a group to view.
View,
Find, and Edit Contact Entries
Select the Address Book
(Contacts) from the device’s Home screen to access your contacts.
Your contact list displays and provides you with a Find tool to quickly
locate the contact you want. In the Find Bar at the bottom of the screen,
enter as much of a first or last name as you know. With the entry of one
letter, the list narrows to include only contacts whose first or last name
begins with that letter. The more characters entered, the less inclusive
the list becomes.
To edit a contact, highlight and select the contact you wish to view. Then select Options > Edit to change the contact information. From the Edit screen menu you can:
• Change information
• Delete fields (Delete Detail)
• Add fields (Add Detail)
• Change field names (Edit Label)
