Attachment Retrieval

Attachments associated with Email messages are available for download to a device. 

 

1.  Initiate the Attachment Download screen.  There are two way to do this:

      Select a message from the message list and choose Menu > Download Message.  The option is only enabled when a message includes an attachment.

OR

      Select the note beneath the text body:  “Get the rest of this message.” 
When selected, that note changes to: 

“Message will download next time you connect and receive Email.”

NOTE:  An attachment download does not wait for a connection.  It is immediately downloaded when you select the item from the Attachment Download screen and choose Download from the Menu.  The text, “Message will download next time you connect…” originates from Pocket Outlook® and is not applicable to NotifyLink.

Either method pops up the Attachment Download screen that lists the attachments and the following information:

Total size (in bytes) of the attachment.

Remain:

Quantity (in bytes) left to download. 

 

2.  Put a check in the box beside the attachments you wish to download.

3.  Select Menu > Download to start the download now.  A transfer bar displays while the attachments are downloading.

4.  Select Done to exit.

 

Viewing the Attachment

Once downloaded, view the attachment by opening the message and selecting Show Attachments.  Highlight and select the attachment you wish to view.  Attempting to access an attachment that has not been downloaded will result in an error message.

 

Saving the Attachment

While viewing the attachment, choose Save As to save the attachment to a specific location.  Pocket PC users can click and hold an attachment to save it.  An attachment file must be saved in order to be forwarded or attached to a new message.

 

If a Download is Interrupted

If the download is interrupted or an error occurs, you can resume downloading. 

      Select Download Message/Do Not Download again.  The Attachment Download screen appears.

      Check the attachment you wish to continue downloading.  You will see the attachment’s total size and how much of it remains to be downloaded.

      Select Menu > Download to resume downloading the file.
