Commands

Commands give you greater flexibility in managing your Email account from your device.  The three commands are used to:

Temporarily suspend NotifyLink retrieval of Email.

Ask the device to catch up or retrieve Email stored in the server database during the suspension period.

Start NotifyLink retrieval of Email again.

A typical use for the commands might be to suspend retrieval during a meeting, a vacation period, or a leave of absence.

1.  Select Start > Programs (PPC) > NotifyLink Preferences

2.  Select Command.

3.  Choose the desired command:

Command

Definition

Notify Off

Disables NotifyLink message notification.  Suspends retrieval of Email from the server.

Catchup

Retrieves Email stored in the server database during the suspension.  (Best practice is to use the Catchup command before turning Notify On again.)  If you do NOT wish to retrieve stored Email (due to the quantity or time relevance of the Emails), use the Notify On command without catching up.

Notify On

Enables NotifyLink message notification.  Restarts retrieval of Email from server.

4.  From the task bar, select Send to send the command to the server.
