Creating New Calendar Events

 

1.  Select Menu > New Appointment from the calendar screen task bar.

2.  Enter the information for any or all of the optional fields or accept the defaults (in bold):

Field

Action

Subject:

Type in a subject.

Start date and time:

Enter a start date and time.

End date and time:

Enter an end date and time.

All Day:

Accept the default of No or choose mark as an all day event.

Location:

Enter a location.

Reminder:

Enter amount of time prior to an event for a reminder to occur. Choose from number of minutes, hours, days, or weeks.  15 minutes is the default.  Default can be changed through Options.  See below.

Occurs:

Default is Once.  Choose frequency if it is a recurring appointment: weekly, monthly, or yearly.  Pocket PCs also give the option to create your own recurrence pattern.

Categories:

Choose No Categories, choose from the category list, or create a new category.  Pocket PC only.

Attendees:

Enter the Email address of a meeting attendee.  A meeting request will be sent to the address(es) you enter here.  Pocket PC only.  (Smartphone users see Meeting Requests below.)

Notes:

Enter details about the event: maps, directions, etc.

 

NOTE:  Additional fields in the appointment entry screen not listed above are not synchronized through NotifyLink. 

3.  Select Done/OK (PPC) to return to the calendar.

 

 

Calendar Screen Menu Options 

You may wish to use one of the following options from the task bar or Menu of the main calendar screen:

Option

Description

Delete Appointment

Deletes the selected appointment.

View

Choose from Agenda (today’s), Week View, or Month View.  Day and year views are also available on Pocket PCs.

Go to Today

Returns you to today’s agenda view.  SmartPhones onlyPocket PCs: use go to icon below screen header.

Go to Date

Moves you to the agenda view of another date.  SmartPhones onlyPocket PCS: use next and previous arrows below screen header.

Options

Allows you to set various view options and default reminder time.

Filter

Allows you to specify which calendar events to display.  Choose All Appointments or appointments with No Categories.  Pocket PC only.
