NotifyLink Device Client Requirements

 

      Service Requirements for Your Windows Mobile Device

You will need one of the following:

Cellular connection supporting data transmission through your mobile service provider. 

WiFi connection with internet access.

Please refer to your device User Guide or contact your carrier/manufacturer for help in configuring this service.

      Space Requirements for Your Windows Mobile Device

You need 4 MB of free space available on your device to install the NotifyLink application.  Additional space is needed to store the notifications that you receive and messages that you send. 

NOTE: You can check available space on your device using the Microsoft ActiveSync® program.

      Wireless Device O/S Requirements:

Your device must be operating on Windows Mobile 5 or 6.  In addition, O/S versions will determine the availability of certain NotifyLink features.

 

Verifying the Requirements on Your Device

Check the OS version on which your device is operating

PocketPC: Start -> Settings -> System tab -> About

SmartPhone: Start -> Settings -> About

Example: Windows Mobile 6 Professional CE OS 5.2.1238

 

Check Available Memory

PocketPC:  Start-> Settings -> System tab -> Memory 

Both storage and system memory are shown.

SmartPhone:  Start -> Settings -> System Information

Memory is the amount of RAM.

 

Check whether your device has been provisioned for data connection

If you can connect to the internet from the browser, chances are you are data provisioned.

Check whether your device is WiFi equipped

PocketPC/Smartphone: Start -> Settings -> Connections

WiFi will be listed as an option if available on the device.
