Installation Walkthrough

Details of the complete NotifyLink installation process.

•      Launch the NotfiyLink.CAB file.  This will copy all files to the installation directory (\<Program Files>\NotifyLink\).

•      You will see a prompt about clearing memory (this is native to the device). Click Done.

•      If the .net compact framework v2 is not installed, the NETCFv2 cab file will automatically launch to install it.  If it is already installed, NotifyLink will launch (skip to step 5).

•      The device will prompt you for a soft reset.  Click YES to reset the device.  NotifyLink will launch once the soft reset is complete.  (NotifyLink will NOT function until the device is soft reset.)

•      At this point if SQLMoblie is not installed, the sqlce30 cab file will automatically launch to install it.  Once the SQLMobile installer is finished, click OK to allow NotifyLink to continue.

•      Once NotifyLink verifies that everything has been installed correctly, shortcuts are placed in the Start Menu (Programs on the Pocket PC).

•      NotifyLink will begin, but nothing will visually happen until an account is added via NotifyLink Preferences (device registration).

1.  From a web browser on the device, go to the following site: http://notifylink.notify.net/ota.asp

2.  Select the Windows Mobile Devices link.

3.  At the download prompt, select YES to begin the transfer.

NOTE:  If you wish to change the save location, click Save As and select a new location.  If the file does not launch automatically, launch it from the saved location.

4.  If you are prompted with a security warning, click ‘YES’ to continue the installation.

5.  Installation is complete. The NotifyLink icons appear on the Start/Programs menu.  Proceed to instructions for Registering Your Device.
