The Email Settings tool gives you the ability to define how devices process email.

Indicates a setting that can be locked.
Place a checkmark in the box beside “Locked” to prevent users from changing
the setting from their device.
1. For Global Device IT Policies:
Select Global IT Policies > Device Policies > Email Settings
For User Device IT Policies:
Select User Administration and highlight a user.
Select User IT Policies > Device Policies > Email Settings
2. Set options to determine how email will be handled:

Sync Read |

Messages you have read in the device Inbox will be marked as Read on the server. Answer Yes to activate, Prompt to give user a choice to mark each message as read or not. |

Sync Delete |

Messages deleted on your device will be deleted on the server. Answer Yes to activate, Prompt to give user a choice to delete or not. |

Override Autoget |
B |
Applies to SMS Push devices only. Check to automatically retrieve the first part of each message when header arrives. Leave unchecked to leave the header, but not retrieve the first part of the message. |

Notification Alert |

Check the box to activate: Device will show a pop-up alert every time new email or PIM data is received. |

Delete Sent Commands |

Check the box to have sent items deleted instead of stored in the Sent Items folder. Note: Does not apply for Window Mobile devices. |
3. Click Apply Changes to save the changes and then Close to exit.
