Installing NotifyLink using the Over The Air Installer ( without using the cradle)

Device Requirements

• OS version 4.1 or greater if you will be using the NotifyLink attachments feature. 
• OS version 3.5 or greater is you will not be using the NotifyLink attachments feature.
• Minimum of 1 MB free space.

Installing NotifyLink using the cradle

Requirements:

• You must have your wireless data network service set up before using NotifyLink Client on your Palm device. 
• You must have the Palm Desktop software installed prior to installing the NotifyLink software. 
• You must have a hot sync profile set up to use with the Palm device.

Once the device application has been downloaded, run the application.

Install Device Application will install the NotifyLink Client to the Palm device.

Select User allows you to select the correct device profile you wish to use with the application.

Select Device Type allows you to select your device type.

• PUSH - The PUSH client version receives SMS messages on the device each time you have a new email. This in turn triggers the device to retrieve the email to your device. 

  • NOTE FOR PUSH USERS: If installing the PUSH  client on the device you will need to set up the user account on the server AFTER installing the device client

• Scheduled PUSH - The Scheduled PUSH/Wi-Fi Client version does NOT receive SMS messages. Instead, the device will check for new emails on it's own. (You may customize the email check frequency in Options).

Install Desktop Connector - for WIRED devices only. Please do NOT select this box. 

Select "Install." The message box shown below will be displayed. Select "OK".

 Perform a HotSync operation to synchronize the Palm Device Client with your computer to install NotifyLink Client. Follow the on screen instructions to finish the installation.

Installing NotifyLink using the Over The Air Installer (without using the cradle)

You now have the availability to download or upgrade your NotifyLink device application to your Palm device without being connected to a computer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. In a web browser on the device, go to the following site - http://notifylink.notify.net

2. Click on Download your device software here. This link will take you to a page that lists all of the different types of NotifyLink software. 

3. Click on the link for the Palm Based OS Software.

4. Under the section "New Over-The-Air Download", clink on the link Download NotifyLink OTA installer. You may also go directly download on your device from the browser. The URL is http://notifylink.notify.net/download/smart/prcs/nlinstall.prc.

5. After you click on the download link you will see a prompt asking if you want to download the .prc file. Select Yes.

6. Once the download is complete, you will be prompted "Do you want to accept 'nlinstall' into Applications?" Select yes to accept this.

7. Open the NL Install application located on the Palm desktop. Once that is opened, depending on the device type, you will have the option to install either the  PUSH or Scheduled PUSH  version of NotifyLink. Select Install.

8. The NotifyLink Installer will download all of the files to your Palm device that are needed for NotifyLink to run.

9. When the download has completed, the installer application will exit. If NotifyLink has been successfully installed, NotifyLink will remove the installer from the device.

10. Installation is now complete.
